About Wren Asher

Born in the Midwest with various careers throughout Barcelona, New York, Capitol Hill, and Minnesota, author Wren Asher has been writing since elementary school, when she, inspired by Nancy Drew, made newsletters with fictitious crimes to solve. Using an old square of carpet from her father’s scrap pile and her mother’s red nail polish to create blood—bagged and tagged with an official-looking yet homemade FBI evidence sticker—her father said, “We have the next Stephen King on our hands.” Her mother replied, “I hope she doesn’t waste all my good polish, but here are some seventies clothes and oversized glasses you can destroy instead.” And with that, Wren’s creative juices flourished.

Her passion for uncovering the world’s hidden histories started early in life, when she chose topics for essays and book reports like the Bermuda Triangle, the secret history of tarot cards, and later in college, she did her honors thesis on the hidden messages in popular Disney movies tied to historically significant cultural climates.

In high school, a judging panel selected Wren as one of three graduation speakers based on the “whimsical and inspirational” speech using playground equipment as a metaphor for life. Fast forward to 2025, when Wren finds her dream literary agent, picks her pen name, and creates her lovely website (thanks for reading), hoping you’ll find her novels in bookstores soon.

When not writing modern Gothic thrillers to discover hidden historical truths, Wren Asher produces content for her YouTube channel, The World According to Wren, she enjoys researching random historical nuggets she may or may not include in a future best seller, traveling, reading, figuring out how to make homemade no-knead artisan bread (she’ll crack the recipe code one of these days), and spends time as an active investor in Sip Tequila, where she amazes folks with her favorite sipping tequila aged in French and American Oak red wine barrels with hints of vanilla—which tastes like a smokey Old Fashioned!

Wren lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two dogs (although she wishes she had more, small enough to push around in a stroller and travel the world in a backpack wearing designer duds, ideally). You can find her on Instagram and YouTube.
